We pride ourselves on the quality of our candidates and it is vitally important that you know what is expected when you join us.

Paperwork

The key to us finding work for you, is understanding your skills and availablity. Please be prepared therefore, for a registration process to take approx. one hour.

When you are booked in for an interview, please bring with you:

  • Proof of ID; Passport, NI card, driving licence
  • Eligibility; If coming from abroad, working visa or permit ( please see 'coming from abroad') link for full clarification.
  • Bank details; we are sure you would like to be paid for your efforts and we cannot do that without your full bank details.
  • P45 and National Insurance number; we cannot pay you until we have both of these. If you do not have a P45 we will process a P46  and pay you emergency tax on your behalf.
  • References; we will check that you have a satifactory work history so please bring along your CV with your most recent work details.
  • Qualifications; all chefs will have their qualifications checked so please bring any certificates with you. If you have acquired any certification in Health and Safety, C.O.S.H.H and food hygiene, we would like to see evidence of them.

If you are missing any of this documentation when you visit us, it will delay us finding you work.

Registration process

  • Application form; collection of tax forms, bank details, Eligibility to work in UK and qualification certificates.
  • Timesheets; full explanation of the timesheet and payroll process.
  • Uniform; observation of professional dress code is essential - full details will be provided.
  • Holiday entitlement; completion of Working Time Directive form and holiday procedures.
  • Assessments; we will assess your knowledge of Health and Safety, Security and Emergency procedures and basic Food Hygiene.  If you are unsuccessful, we offer full training.
  • Office opening hours; we will provide you with full contact details for the local office.
  • How to work with us; your consultant will tell you how bookings are passed to you and our expectations of you. Our aim is to build a successful relationship based on trust and commitment.

General courtesy, manners and honesty go a long way. We will do our utmost to give you all the information you need to be successful in your booking. We commit to treat you fairly and with respect at all times...even when the pressure is on . In return, we ask the same. If you do not want a booking or cannot make it or there is something on TV you cannot miss, please tell us! Reliability and trust is essential in our dealings with each other.

Here are some quick pointers to follow.

  • Absence from work; contact your consultant as soon as possible before your shift is due to begin. State clearly who you are, your work assignment, your reason for not working, your possible return date.
  • Timekeeping; It is essential you arrive to work 10 minutes before your shift is due to begin, to allow yourself time to change, wash your hands etc. If you are running late, please contact us so we can contact the client. Late arrival may mean you are replaced on the shift and may affect future bookings.
  • Misconduct; misconduct or poor performance may result in your removal from the temporary register. Examples of behaviour considered to be Gross Misconduct are, but not limited to,
  • Dishonesty, including falsification of statutory and company documents.
  • Neglect of duty
  • Unauthorised absence
  • Consuming or possession of alcohol or illegal drugs whilst working or on company property.
  • Breach of Food Hygiene and Health and Saftey Regulations.
  • Any conviction for fraud
  • Smoking in an unauthorised area.
